This post is advertised as an annex 21 Band 6. Applicants who do not currently hold all the necessary competencies to a Band 6 level are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be appointed under Annex 21 rules whereby 70% of the top of Band 6 will be payable during the first year, 75% during the second year. Applicants would be supported to develop their competencies required to fulfil the role within 24 months. Failure to achieve the competencies in the designated timeframe could result in re-deployment. As part of the Annex 21 process, there is no financial penalty to those who apply for this role where the percentage will cause a reduction in pay, subsequently a local protection would be put in place until the pay has caught up. To work independently, on own initiative to ensure the effective provision of investigations. Recognise and act on urgent results liaising with medical and nursing colleagues to ensure correct action is taken and advising on complex issues and results. Delivering ambulatory BP and ECG monitoring service by preparing and issuing devices for patients. Interpreting the results to produce a clinical report. Performing and interpreting exercise tolerance tests with or without medical supervision, taking full responsibility for patients safety throughout, recognising and acting appropriately in an emergency. Delivering a cardiac device follow-up service within own knowledge and capability and under the supervision of senior colleagues. Performing and interpreting ECGs on a range of patients in emergency and routine situations and advise clinicians on urgent findings. Recording routine and urgent observations during patient assessment, e.g. blood pressure and oxygen saturation levels, and taking appropriate action.
