What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Dining Room Manager to support the management of our lunchtime sessions at our First School (Years 1 to 3).
Shift Pattern:Term-Time: Monday to Friday - 11.15am to 1.45pm daily
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
• Lead, support, and guide the lunchtime team, ensuring they provide high-quality service.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the lunchtime and catering teams.
• Effectively communicate individual pupil needs to class teachers, leaders, and SLT.
• Provide clear direction and expectations to all supply staff at the start of each lunchtime session.
Pupil Supervision & Support:
• Create and maintain a calm and welcoming environment in the dining hall and other areas.
• Actively engage with pupils, showing genuine interest and encouraging positive social interaction.
• Manage lunch queues efficiently, ensuring smooth and orderly entry and exit from the dining hall.
• Assist pupils as needed, such as cutting food or pouring drinks.
• Have a good understanding of individual dietary and medical requirements.
• Ensure the dining hall is left clean and tidy after each lunch service.
• Respond promptly to minor incidents, administering basic first aid when necessary.
• Identify and address any inappropriate or unsafe behaviours.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and often busy environment.
• Complete administration tasks required.
Health, Safety, and Behaviour:
• Prioritise the safety and well-being of all pupils at all times.
• Identify and report any concerns regarding child safety and well-being in accordance with school safeguarding procedures.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and school values.
Professional Conduct & Development:
• Participate in the school's appraisal and professional development programs.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils, and other relevant staff
• Uphold the school's ethos, policies, and practices.
• Maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
