(6hrs with 30-minute unpaid break) Interview Date: 4 April 2025 The Salvation Army, Leigh on Sea operates a busy charity shop, which works to meet the needs of the local community and to raise funds for the work of the corps. We are looking to appoint a Charity Shop Manager who will ensure the safe and effective management of the shop and will work to further the mission of The Salvation Army. Key Responsibilities: • Manage the shop to ensure that it meets all sales targets and to enable delivery of mission related objectives. • Responsible for maintaining costs within the operating budget for the shop. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: • Proven experience of successfully managing a busy retail shop and achieving performance targets • Experience of analysing performance and developing plans to make improvements • Ability to work using own initiative without regular supervision • Experience of working with general systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel and email programmes • Where relevant, demonstrable experience of leading, motivating and managing a team of shop staff • S/NVQ 4 qualification in retail management or equivalent • Up to date knowledge of health and safety requirements in a retail environment • Willingness to work within The Salvation Army’s Christian ethos and deliver mission through the shop’s activities In order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.
