We are looking for a dedicated, adaptable and encouraging Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our supportive team at the Medical Facility, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.
This is a part-time position consisting of 18 hours per week across Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of the successful candidate is to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled service personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal (MSK), sports and training injury areas. This is a singleton physiotherapy post working within a very small multi-disciplinary team with remote professional support.
Job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
* Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred via Direct Access to Physiotherapy (DAP), Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries. Using clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* Formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment and exercise programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
* Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
* Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
* Provision of clinical reports to supply clinical prognoses and comprehensive discharge planning for other medical professionals and, where appropriate, the military Chain of Command (CoC).
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Bachelors of Science (BSc Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent).
* Completed relevant courses and experience that would be equivalent to graduate diploma level of study.
Experience
* Must have relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
* Experience in the management of MSK disorders at Band 6 level.
* Experience in a broad range of physiotherapy services e.g. NHS rotations, Occupational Health, Hand Therapy, Persistent Pain Management, Sports and Training Injuries.
Registrations and Memberships
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP).

* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
