The Role of Apprentice Finance and Administration Assistant: We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our team as an Apprentice Finance and Admin Assistant at our Head Office in Newbridge, Edinburgh. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience, training, and support to achieve a Modern Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 6) in Business & Administration. This 12-month apprenticeship is designed to provide essential administrative support to our finance function while helping you develop key skills in finance, administration, and customer service. Key learning/job tasks include: Customer Service: You will develop the skills to confidently manage customer queries Learn how to prioritise communications based on urgency and escalating when necessary. Team Collaboration: Work closely with a skilled team, learning from your colleagues' knowledge and experience. Help the finance department succeed by contributing to the team’s efforts. Communication: Develop the ability to adapt your communication style to suit different work situations. Become confident in communicating with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. Admin support Tasks: Receive hands-on training and apply it in practice to support the finance team by assisting with purchase ledgers, credit control, and general financial administrative tasks. Become competent in using and updating financial systems to ensure accurate and efficient record-keeping. Learn how to manage both electronic and manual financial records, including filing, archiving, and maintaining up-to-date digital records. As you gain experience, you'll become comfortable with front-desk tasks, like greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and directing questions to the right people. Assist the Finance Manager with any tasks as needed, helping to improve the overall efficiency of the finance department. Compliance: Learn about and receive training on how to handle financial data responsibly, following company rules and legal guidelines to keep information accurate and private. Gain an understanding of health and safety regulations and how they apply within the office and finance environment.
