ROLE PURPOSE:
Allwyn operates a Three Lines of Defence model. First line Functional Management & Staff, Second line Functional Compliance, Risk & Insurance and Central Compliance and Third Line Internal Audit. As part of the first line, you will participate and feed into the Central Second line and Third line of Defence’s risks universe to enable an aligned and integrated assurance approach.
The primary responsibility of the role is to support the three functions and the wider Assurance team in implementing a robust forward-looking Assurance framework. This role supports three functions: People, Legal, and A&PP.
The People team comprises People Partnering, Talent, EVP & DEI, People Operations, and People Transformation. Together we will embrace talented people, enabling them to bring the best of themselves and give them the space and platform to do their best work with a shared purpose to transform the National Lottery.
The Legal team oversees Allwyn's governance and compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code and all regulatory requirements, especially related to the Fourth Licence requirements and statutory obligations under the Act, Directions, and Regulations.
The Assurance and Participant Protection (A&PP) team brings together expert teams to support and guide the business with this new outcomes-based approach. We help to interpret the Licence and create an empowering governance and assurance framework so the business can take accountability and operate with clarity, agility, confidence, and compliance; and provide assurance to the Board and Gambling Commission.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead and embed the Assurance, Compliance and Risk frameworks and objectives across People, Legal, A&PP with particular focus on enhancing risk management, controls activity, real-time compliance, governance, outcomes, and monitoring activities.
2. Support the People, Legal and A&PP teams to ensure the effective implementation, execution, and monitoring of the wider National Lottery licence conditions and Matters to be Protected.
3. Key touchpoint, in the first line, for ensuring the integrity of regulatory reporting obligations within the People, Legal and A&PP team.
4. Support the People, Legal and A&PP teams (first line) to provide assurance primarily to the various governance committees, on the effectiveness of the Operations control environment.
5. Support putting in place and/or assessing the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and processes.
6. Support the People, Legal and A&PP teams to identify and correctly meet the company direction with regards to adopting standards (align, adhere, accredit etc.) and demonstrate Best Practice in accordance with policy and business reporting needs.
7. Enhance and make efficient Allwyn’s self-assessment control framework and identify areas for continuous improvement.
8. Ensure the maintenance of Self Assessment and Risk Register activities. The level of the activity will depend on the Inherent risk rating in each area.
9. Act as the conduit between the Assurance Function and the People, Legal and A&PP teams to support in the delivery of Business requirements in relation to OBDM and wider Licence Outcomes.
