Various departments and locations across central Oxford and Headington £25,331 per annum About the role You will assist with a variety of HR tasks within your specific department to enable the smooth running of day to day operations. You will learn to provide support in a wide range of tasks from recruitment through to retirement, depending on the department you work with and this will be described further in the relevant job description for the role. These roles provide an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to gain a broad range of HR skills with the ability to work at a fast pace within a successful team. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: • Learn how to use the University’s HR system, PeopleXD, to enter confidential, personal data, and assist with data entry into internal databases and spreadsheets
• Accurately maintain all confidential electronic and paper-based personnel files• Prepare a wide range of written communications including; contracts, letters and wider communications.• Learn about recruitment processes, assisting with the administration of recruitment exercises which will include; placing advertisements, generating letters to applicants and preparing short listing packs• Assist with the delivery of projects across the HR team
• Learn how to manage the recording and tracking of sickness absence and annual leave• Gather information for visa applications where necessary• Assist with the compilation of data for reports• Learn how to monitor end of probationary periods and visa expiry dates• Run monthly reports and manage data quality Whichever department you choose to be considered for (on successful completion of our initial screening process) you will find that you are supported and inspired to succeed within your role. About the apprenticeship As an Apprentice HR Assistant you will undertake an apprenticeship with Abingdon and Witney College, where you will complete a Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship. For this apprenticeship, you will work within a department at the University of Oxford, in central Oxford or Headington. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to spend at least 20% of your working hours training or studying, which will include regular attendance at Abingdon and Witney College. In total, it will take 18-24 months to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout.
