Student Personal development Manager Cambridge Full time / permanent £38,000 ASAP Start 37 hours per week About the role: Responsibilities will include to plan, manage and implement the college’s centrally devised personal development programme for students, adult learners and apprentices, including materials for tutors and teachers, student voice programmes, enrichment, and events linked to national and local priorities. You will manage the teams associated with student personal development, pastoral support, enrichment and learning resources providing a consistent excellent service to all stakeholders, leading to successful student progression and post-college destinations. You will report into the Director of Student Services. You will undertake line management responsibility including performance, holiday and sickness reporting, 1:1s, appraisals and probation reviews for: • PD Coach team • LRC team • Gym Supervisor • Pastoral Support Co-Ordinator What we are looking for in our role: Essential to drive own car to be able to work between both locations. Proven experience in managing personal development programmes within an educational or young people service setting, successfully leading and managing teams, developing and delivering training programmes, coordinating student enrichment activities and student voice initiatives and working with young people to motivate and inspire them. The qualifications required for this role are: • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field • Qualified to minimum Level 2 standard in English and Maths • A relevant Level 3 qualification or substantial supervisory experience Areas of responsibility: • To lead on the planning, development and delivery of the personal development Calendar to ensure that topics, events and activities are included that provide an appropriate and relevant programme, relating to the personal development curriculum in line with Ofsted requirements • To lead on the creation, development and consistency of tutorial resources (TMail) for all provision types, differentiated by level, in collaboration with curriculum and quality teams • Develop and deliver training for tutors on TMail topics and other elements of personal development delivery where they may require additional support/coaching • To lead on the planning and delivery of Freshers’ Fairs, enterprise competitions and other cross-college events and activities relating to personal development • Ensure that resources are in place to support student induction programmes to ensure an excellent student experience • Lead on the delivery of student voice processes, including recruitment and training of student representatives, the planning and implementation of departmental boards, and an annual student conference. • To lead on the co-ordination and development of a cross-college enrichment offer, monitor student and apprentice engagement and increase participation. To work with relevant departments to support, help inform, and embed a relevant enrichment programme. • To ensure the Students’ Union Executives are supported to promote their work, engage students on relevant student voice and enrichment initiatives.
