Braintree PCN has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic paramedic to join our PCN. You will be based in Braintree within one practice but will be required to travel between all of the GP practices within our PCN on occasions. This role is offered on a full-time basis 37.5 hours per week on 4/5 days.
Main duties of the job
* Urgently respond to referrals and provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients, according to patients needs either in the practice or patient homes.
* Support, and continue the development of, an on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice.
* Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in both emergency situations and telephone triage, demonstrating the use of a variety of techniques to elicit the history of an event/illness, including past medical and drug history.
* Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral.
* Review the effectiveness of the treatment provided, making changes where necessary to improve patient outcomes.
* Maintain accurate clinical records in an efficient manner.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have post-registration experience, ideally with some being in primary care.
* Have completed ENP/ECP Minor Injuries and Minor Illness course Level 6 and be an ALS/APLS provider.
Experience
* Able to effectively assess, plan, treat and refer patients.
* Able to evaluate patient care confidently.
* Have experience of working to protocols and guidelines.
* Exhibit excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
* Have the ability to make clear decisions with confidence and communicate these effectively.
* Have an understanding of the need to work within the parameters of one's own training and capability, according to the Health and Care Professions Council.
* Have experience of autonomous practice working and multi-professional team working.
* Able to demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children.
