About DataGlow Energy
DataGlow Energy is an exciting and innovative development platform incubated within Octopus Energy, that integrates key infrastructure systems, consisting of utility-scale solar PV and/or wind, BESS, private wire infrastructure, edge data centres and ambient ground-source heat networks.
This scheme encourages data centres with green credentials being developed in the UK, to optimise the usage of renewable energy and meet increasing demand in AI, digital transformations and low-latency computational applications.
DataGlow projects have a strong customer proposition, offering significant local community benefits as providing free the heat recovered from the data centre enables heating running costs lower than gas, free or discounted heat pumps and installations, with the possibility for cheap direct wire electricity from the solar/wind farm and an ultra-fast internet connection extended from the data centre fibre connection for the same price as standard internet offerings.
