About the Role The children s homes you will be the Registered Manager for, is for a 5-bedded home for children and young people aged from 8-17, with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and proactive individuals, to take on the role as a Registered Manager to manage one of our established Rochdale Councils Children s Homes. As a part of this role there is an expectation that you register with Ofsted and complete all applications within the required timescale. You will have a fit person s interview with a designated Ofsted inspector on successful submission of your application. About you We ask that you have a positive attitude and the role does require an adaptable and flexible approach, and a role that is rewarding. As this exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager has become available, this is a permanent 37 hour per week. You need to have exceptional time management to be able to manage your home and be able to prioritise your workload. This a great opportunity for the successful person to manage a home with an already dedicated and experienced team of staff. You will provide a caring and nurturing environment, as our children and young people need care, love, nurture and guidance to help them on the route they take in life. We are looking for someone who will be a positive role model for our children and young people and the staff team you will be responsible for (1 assistant/deputy manager and 10 Residential Child Care Workers). You must be committed to effectively safeguard children and young people and promote their health and well-being. You will be part of a supportive management team and will receive training and lots of opportunity to develop and be part of a management group that strives to improve the service to our children and young people and their families. In the role of a Registered Manager you will also monitor, review and audit systems to ensure compliance with Ofsted and operate within the framework of the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard 2023 and the Children s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015. We want our homes to be rated Good to Outstanding. This home is already rated as Good overall and in all areas. You will be expected to supervise staff on a regular basis and undertake annual Delve/Appraisals. This role is a career, and whether expanding your management role skills, we ask that you have the drive and passion for the role and can excel in the role and there will be valuable future opportunities for personal and professional development. Some key parts of your development will involve on-going training opportunities and to complete a programme of Therapeutic Parenting and PACE. As the Registered Manager, you must be over 21 years of age, you will have integrity and be of good character, with appropriate experience, qualification and skills to manage the home effectively and lead the care of our children and young people. You must within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children and worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role. You must have attained the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
