Job Overview
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking a strategic and ambitious Chief Executive to lead our Local Care Organisations (LCO) and University Dental Hospital of Manchester (UDHM) Clinical Group. Reporting to the Trust Chief Executive, this role will play an integral part in our future success as we work to improve care and services for our communities across Manchester, Trafford, and beyond.
As part of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in realizing the Trust’s overall strategy while ensuring that the LCO & UDHM Clinical Group aligns with and advances the board’s ambitions. We are looking for a collaborative, partnership-oriented health service leader committed to integrated care services and addressing health inequalities at the population level. You will bring demonstrable executive-level experience in NHS provider settings and a passion for the development of integrated care provision alongside a track record of successful partnership working with a broad range of stakeholders.
Main Duties of the Job
* Overall accountability for the management of clinical operations within the Clinical Group, focusing on providing high-quality, safe, efficient, and financially sustainable patient services.
* Ensuring that the Clinical Group plays a full strategic and operational role across MFT and the wider health and social care system.
* Championing and strengthening the integration of Community Health Services and Adult Social Care provision in accordance with Section 75 arrangements at both Manchester City Council and Trafford Borough Council.
* Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including local, regional, and national commissioners, neighbouring healthcare providers, local authorities, and the voluntary sector.
* Leading as an integral member of MFT’s Wider Leadership Team providing advice and support for the development of strategy and operational delivery across the organization.
* Working as a dynamic, innovative, compassionate, and inclusive leader, using a positive, strong influencing and coaching style to inspire, motivate, and give confidence to all staff within the Clinical Group.

Qualifications - Academic / Professional
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of recent and relevant continuous professional development.
* Formal management or leadership qualification.
Skills, Knowledge Requirements & Experience
* Outstanding personal impact with highly developed interpersonal, networking, advocacy, written and presentation skills.
* Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to think and act strategically while maintaining a clear view of the issues affecting the Clinical Group and MFT.
* Ability to translate a strategic vision into operational action and communicate those objectives effectively.
* A high level of political awareness and experience as a Trust Chief Executive or Executive Director level.
* A successful track record of consistent delivery against NHS performance standards and sustainable bottom-line delivery.
* Experience working on national programmes or contributing to national policy development.
