Our client's School and Nursery sits in the heart of Chelsea and provides a warm, welcoming environment for children aged 6 months through to 11 years old. Children and staff know each other well, creating a genuine family feel and providing a nurturing environment within which our children can learn and develop.
The Nursery provides the vital foundations for a child's educational journey, supporting their early years development whilst engendering a love of learning through an academic curriculum tailored for each child. This prepares them for an effortless transition into pre-prep education and beyond.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join their baby room and nursery team in delivering a broad-based, rich, and academically excellent curriculum for their 6-month to 4-year-old children as they prepare for transition to an academic prep school.
You will join the team in delivering high-quality, academically focused early years education while providing a safe, nurturing environment for children to grow.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or other full and relevant Early Years qualification)
2. Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting
3. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
6. Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation governing childcare (e.g., Safeguarding)
Duties:
1. Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 6 months - 4 years
2. Plan and implement EYFS-appropriate activities, ensuring they are stimulating and engaging
3. Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
4. Lead stimulating educational activities that engage children while adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage standards
5. Support children's social and emotional development through games, stories, music, and arts activities
6. Support children's learning development through reading, writing, and numeracy work
7. Monitor children's food and drink consumption, feeding younger children and supervising older children during mealtimes
8. Support children with personal hygiene, including changing babies and assisting with toilet training when required
9. Arrange and chaperone outdoor activities such as visits to parks and outdoor games
10. Act as a key worker for one or more children, including monitoring their progress, maintaining detailed records, providing developmentally challenging next steps, and reporting to their parents and/or carers
11. Ensure the safety of all children and report any concerns immediately to the management team

Schedule:
40 hour week, flexible working patterns within Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm
