Job description
An exciting role has arisen with a small but effective charity based in Glasgow. As a Resource worker you will provide crisis emotional and practical support service to survivors of child sexual abuse, exploitation and other forms of sexual violence.
The main duties of the Resource Worker role are :
1. To provide a crisis and emotional support service to survivors, 16-25 years, of childhood sexual abuse/exploitation, rape/sexual assault and/or other forms of sexual violence, including commercial sexual exploitation, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
2. To provide direct 1:1 emotional support and links to homelessness, preventing the cycles of homelessness and abuse by building the skills, resources and resilience they need to make their lives more manageable.
3. To provide trauma-informed motivation and positivity to the young women to encourage personal development, independence and change on a person-centred and solution-focused basis.
4. To make referrals for additional practical supports, both internal and external, to maximize support and recovery.
5. To act as an advocate for the young women with other relevant agencies, including supporting the young women to find safe accommodation.
To be considered for the role you would need:
6. An understanding of Men's Violence against Women and Girls (MVAWG) and ability to work from a feminist perspective in all aspects of role.
7. A relevant qualification in counselling and/or Community Education, Housing, Social Work or other related field.
8. Holding or working towards SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable.
9. At least 1 year's experience in providing individual emotional/psychological support work involving
