Our Team Our Finance team in Leeds is a large team made of up the Financial Service Centre, Credit Control, Management Accounts and the Financial Planning and Analysis team. The wider team provide centralised support for all of the UK offices and take pride in providing a world class service to the firm's internal and external clients. Our Opportunity Based in Leeds and reporting to the Director of Global Billing Operations and the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice, you will be responsible for investigating residual trust balances on client accounts. By providing a forensic function you will maintain a centralised database and ensure balances are returned to clients promptly and that they are kept informed, providing a world class service to the firm's internal and external clients. You will work with Partners and other fee earners to agree progress reports and maintain momentum in investigations. The role will require the preparation and distribution of regular reports to Partners as well as attendance at monthly meeting with the Director of Global Billing Operations and Compliance Office for Legal Practice to review progress. You will be confident in building relationships with the wider Finance team and you will work closely with the Cashiering team on payment and transfer instructions. You will also upskill other members of the Finance team in order to improve processes in the future. This role requires a detail orientated professional with knowledge of the legal industry and the confidence to proactively make recommendations on existing processes and structures. You To be considered for this position you must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with detailed information whilst keeping sight of the bigger picture. You will have the drive to focus on a number of interrelated tasks whilst meeting all deadlines. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with colleagues of all levels within the Firm, as well as externally. You will be able to handle sensitive matters confidentially and professionally. Travel to other UK offices will be required. You will preferably be a law graduate or have completed your CILEx Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Experience in a Real Estate Paralegal role and knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules would be an advantage but not essential. You will have a good working knowledge in Microsoft Excel. Ideally with experience of case management systems (e.g. Elite Enterprise) and a document management system (e.g. iManage), you will be able to adapt to new systems with ease.
