Our prestigious client based in Herefordshire are currently looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager.
The main purpose of the role is to have overall accountability of all purchasing related activities through meeting agreed cost targets and delivery performance.
The Role:
1. Possess strong communication skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
2. Familiarity working with ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing requirements and stock control.
3. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to promote continuous improvement.
4. Experience in working to ISO standards and promoting cultural engagement to ensure that they are continually met.
5. Have a problem-solving mindset to anticipate potential problems and implement preventative strategies.
Desired Qualifications:
1. ILM L5
2. MCIPS Qualified
3. IOSH Qualification in Managing Safely
Responsibilities:
1. Create and implement procurement strategies to maintain security of supply and support business needs.
2. Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel at suppliers.
3. Be responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers taking into consideration total cost and service.
4. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer/supplier power.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive overall shop floor performance.
6. Lead purchasing processes with a focus on quality and efficiency to meet customer deadlines.
