Events Manager - Regional Services
Location: Liverpool or London
Salary: £34,390 - £36,000
The regional services team (RST) sits within the wider RCP regional team to support the operational delivery of many face-to-face and digital events and initiatives. This includes, but is not restricted to, a series of in-person educational conferences held across the UK; several large-scale online conferences; and a bespoke webinar series. These events are designed to provide CPD opportunities and career support for physicians and RCP members across the UK. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality events and activities, and the RST strives to provide consistency across events, taking pride in offering a seamless service to our members, regardless of their location.
As the Event Manager for the regional services team, you will play a crucial role in developing, delivering, and managing the full programme of regional events. Leading the busy team (3 direct reports), you will be responsible for overseeing our diary of regional events and ensuring standard processes and standard operating procedures are maintained, developed, and implemented across the team’s activities. With responsibility for the operational success and quality of regional events, you will have a strong eye for detail and a drive for continuous improvement. You will also be able to offer guidance and support to the wider team during the development or delivery of new events and activities where necessary, and you will have digital confidence, allowing you to learn and share new processes.
This role will involve travel across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland to attend meetings and events both regionally and nationally.
What we are looking for:
1. Demonstrable experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating a wide portfolio of in-person and online events.
2. Ability to think strategically and plan a busy event schedule.
3. Experience in managing and leading a small team, and developing processes and systems to ensure high standards and consistency.
4. Experience in financial management, processing invoices, and managing event income and expenditure.
5. Strong project management skills and commitment to delivering high-quality events and initiatives.
6. Evidence of digital competence and willingness to champion digital tools and processes.
Experience working within a membership organisation and confidently devising medical event programmes would be advantageous but not critical, provided the candidate displays a keen interest in learning and understanding how to develop educational resources and agendas.
