Chief of Dentistry – Oral Health Directorate, NHSGGC
5 sessions per week – 0.5wte (1 session = 4 hours)
Fixed term for 3 years (reviewed after 3 years)
Applications are invited for the post of Chief of Dentistry within the Oral Health Directorate, NHSGGC. The post holder will be the senior clinical dentistry advisor to NHSGGC and the lead contact for Scottish Government in relation to clinical activity for dentistry within NHSGGC.
The Chief of Dentistry will be expected to provide clinical leadership, advice, and support to:
1. The General Manager, Oral Health
2. The Oral Health Senior Management Team
3. The Director of Regional Services and the Chief Officer, East Dunbartonshire HSCP
4. NHSGGC Board Medical Director and Chief Executive
5. General Dental Practitioners and other NHS external contractors working in NHSGGC
6. Scottish Government

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
