Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with officesin Rugby, is currently looking to recruit a Lead Tenancy Officer foran initial 12 month contract on a rate of £19.99/hour PAYE (37 hoursper week). This role will be a hybrid of 4 days on site and 1 day athome.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the organisation in legal proceedings in regard toall court processes relating to housing management.
- Toconduct final reviews on all tenancies at risk of eviction andidentify the next steps to be taken in an effort to sustain thetenancy.
- Supervise the Housing Officers in delivering ahousing management service for all tenants of the Organisation ingeneral needs housing and Independent Living schemes.
- Provideadvice, assistance and information to tenants and the general publicby way of office interviews, home visits, telephone calls, writtencorrespondence and e-mail, efficiently and courteously with particularemphasis on customer care.
- Liaise with all housing teams,Housing Services Team Leader and other Officers of the Organisation,to ensure appropriate support is provided in the delivery of housingservices and to identify and resolve any complaints or problems.
- Work with internal departments and external organisations toensure where possible tenancies are sustained through a multi-agencyapproach and individual support packages.
- Monitor, installand co-ordinate the use of noise recording equipment.
- SupportHousing Officers to investigate and process all housing managementrequests such as transfers of tenancy, mutual exchanges and successionin accordance within current legislation.
- Supervise HousingOfficer to investigate, report and act upon possible breaches oftenancy conditions using all appropriate methods including Courtaction to remedy breaches.
- Manage and investigate high riskcomplaints of anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes and takeprompt and appropriate action against offenders in conjunction withother agencies such as the police and social services. Ensure accuraterecords are maintained, collate witness statements and ensure we areworking within current legislation.
- Support Housing Officersto prepare a full evidence package in neighbour nuisance andanti-social behaviour cases for instructing legal action and followingthrough to conclusion of any Court action.
- Promote tenantparticipation wherever possible, establishing and maintainingproductive links and promoting equal opportunities within the service.
- Work with residents and other agencies to develop andmaintain community agreements.
- Subject to data protectionprocedures lead on liaising with other agencies on issues of tenancysustainment.
- Organise case conferences and attendance of allrelevant agencies in appropriate cases in an effort to achieve apositive outcome for tenants in maintaining their tenancy.
-Monitor and supervise Housing Officers to Ensure all work is recordedon the housing management systems and prepare cases notes and reportsfor the Housing Services Team Leader.
- Ensure all monitoringrecords are accurately maintained.
- Prepare reports onstatistical data for monitoring the service and recommending whereimprovements can be made.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and complianceto Human Rights and Data Protection legislation.
- Ability toeffectively communicate with residents, staff and other organisations,both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work independently andas part of a team, prioritising own workload and meeting deadlines.
- Be able to carry out day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Must be able to deal with pressurised situations in acontrolled and effective manner.
- Must be able to make concisewritten reports in a timely and accurate manner.

- Previousexperience of supervising staff in a Housing environment.
-Ability to work on own initiative and investigate issues and developrecommendations for action.
- Have an understanding of thecurrent housing issues and the local and national political and socialframework within which local authority housing services operate.
- Previous experience dealing with the public both face to faceand by telephone with a varying customer base.
- Demonstrateflexibility, fairness, and equality in the delivery of the service.
- Working in a team and understanding the needs of teamwork.

- Confident with financial issues.
-Basic statistical work
- A minimum of 2 years relevantexperience in a customer focused environment.
- Full currentdriving licence

- Experience of enforcement and ability to use enforcementtools available and previous experience of representing at Court.
- Working towards full membership of the Chartered Institute ofHousing or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of Health and Safetypolicies and legislation.
- Adapt to change.
- Strong PCskills and awareness of how IT can be used to improve efficiency andquality.
