We are looking to recruit a Clinical Support Worker to join the expanding team in the busy Barnstaple sexual health department. This is a substantive post, working 22.5 hours per week.
Working under the supervision of qualified nursing and medical staff, the post-holder will assist in the care of patients within the department and carry out general duties to enable the effective running of clinics. This will initially include a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, such as: chaperoning patients during clinical examinations and procedures, undertaking venepuncture, stocking clinic rooms, ordering clinical supplies, filing results and entering data. You will have both trust and in-house training and competencies to complete.
Previous experience would be supportive to the role but not essential as in-house training will be given. A desire to deliver excellent patient care with the support and guidance of your colleagues will be supportive for this role. An ability to deal professionally and sensitively with the general public is essential. We work with a diverse range of patients, and the post-holder must be non-judgmental with excellent communication skills, and a positive, self-motivated attitude. The clinics are based in Barnstaple Heath Centre and surrounding locality areas including Bideford, Holsworthy and Ilfracombe. Applicants for this post need to be able to manage a demanding workload, and have the flexibility to work within the needs of the service, to include some evenings and potential weekend work.
Working Pattern: 22.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Clinic hours between 8.30 and 6.30 (there may also be some weekend working in the future).
