Zenon are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an Air Ambulance Provider based in the London region for a Flight Operations and Part CAMO Safety and Compliance Manager on a permanent basis.
This is a highly fulfilling role where the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation maintains the necessary compliance, relevant approvals and exemptions. The candidate is also responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of the SMS.
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
* Providing advice to the organisation concerning safety with regulations and to ensure that safety implied changes are communicated throughout the organisation.
* Facilitating the risk management process which includes hazard identification, risk assessment and risk mitigation.
* Managing and triaging safety reports.
* Ensuring initiation and follow up of internal occurrence/accidents for aviation investigations, ensuring appropriate follow up investigation and corrective actions.
* Providing periodic reports on safety performance, specifically to the Safety Review Board (as defined in AMC1 CAMO,A.200(a)(1)).
* Ensuring maintenance of safety management documentation.
* Planning and organising all staff SMS training.
* Providing advice and assist senior managers on safety matters.
* Overseeing hazard identification systems.
* Implementing and constantly reviewing the organisation's safety requirements.
* Attending all Authority audits and inspections and ensuring timely and adequate response to all subsequent findings and observations.
* Reviewing the implementation and effectiveness of the Safety Management System.
Minimum Skills and Experience:
* 5 years of relevant work experience in the application of safety standards and safe operating practices, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
* A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic, or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components.
* Or criteria 2 may be replaced with an additional 5 years' experience (above the 5 years stated in criteria 1) from an appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness management and/or surveillance of such tasks.
* Demonstrable aviation safety management systems experience and current with the latest SMS theories and philosophies.
* A thorough knowledge of CAA Air Operations, the UK ANO, Part-CAMO, and Part-145 and applicable regulations.
* To have previously held a Form 4 post, ideally as a Safety Manager.
* Trained in Safety Investigation techniques.
