Job Description:
They are currently searching for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our projects and frameworks, ensuring they are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management: Manage project costs from inception to completion, including budget preparation, cost forecasting, and regular cost reporting.
2. Procurement: Oversee procurement processes, including sourcing materials and subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
3. Contract Administration: Administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all parties fulfill their obligations and resolving any disputes that may arise.
4. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks related to cost, schedule, and quality through proactive risk assessment and management strategies.
5. Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for value engineering, optimizing project costs without compromising quality or performance.
6. Change Management: Assess and manage changes to project scope, specifications, and requirements, ensuring that any variations are properly documented and approved.
7. Cost Control: Implement robust cost control measures to monitor project expenditures, identify variances, and take corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track financially.
8. Final Account Settlement: Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all parties are fairly compensated for the work performed.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and piping projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
5. Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel, MS Project, and industry-specific quantity surveying software.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
