This thriving, family run firm in the heart of Newport city centre is looking for a Paralegal to join their Wills & Probate department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in wills, probate, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA's) who are looking to further their career in a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities
1. Take new business enquiries and open matters.
2. Assist with the preparation and drafting of legal documents to include Wills, Last Powers of Attorney, Trust Deeds, Probate applications and Estate Accounts.
3. Draft correspondence and legal documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
4. Maintain an organised filing system for all case-related documents.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases.
6. Manage schedules and appointments using Outlook to ensure timely follow-ups.
7. Ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations.
8. Provide administrative support within the office as required.
9. Costing and preparation of bills for approval.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role is preferred.
2. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
4. Proficiency in IT applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
5. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
6. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
