We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000
The relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated professional to work as a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist (or Band 7 to progress to Band 8a) within the established and supportive Learning Disability Community Team, based on the Wirral at Leasowe.
The service provides person-centred support to people with learning disabilities, who may also experience co-morbid mental health difficulties, challenging behaviour and/or autism. The service offers a full multi-disciplinary approach and this post will be integral to the team, consisting of psychiatrists, community nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists. Suitable candidates will have had significant experience working with people with learning disabilities and be able to demonstrate leadership experience and qualities.
The post holder will ensure the most appropriate psychological interventions are offered in a timely manner and with service user satisfaction at the core of this.
Access to transport for work purposes is essential as the post holder will be required to travel as part of their role.
The post holder will provide specialist assessment, formulation and intervention in order to facilitate positive change and enhance quality in the lives of people with learning disabilities, through direct and indirect therapeutic support.
They should be willing to be adaptable in working across a range of community settings, including people’s homes. They will supervise and support junior members of the team and clinical psychology trainees. A commitment to quality improvement initiatives and research is essential as we also host the Centre for Autism, Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID).
