Main duties of the job
Cardiff and Vale UHB are able to offer an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking Physiotherapy team. The postholder should show passion and enthusiasm for assessment and treatment of the acute stroke patient.
You will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and as a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to provide high quality physiotherapy to patients following admission with Stroke. You will work closely with the stroke rehabilitation team in UHL and the Early Supported Discharge team for Stroke supporting patient flow across the pathway. This post requires post registration experience in stroke rehabilitation, ideally in a senior role, with appropriate knowledge and skills.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Physiotherapist who can provide decisive and effective therapy input and can demonstrate leadership qualities, high level of communication skills and a flexible approach when working under pressure.
You will be required to work your normal contracted hours flexibly to support the 7-day acute stroke service and to support the emergency duty rotas at UHW.
You will be required to supervise and support other registered physiotherapy staff on rotation, as well as support staff, and students. Effective communication with the wider MDT, as well as community and 3rd sector services is essential in supporting patients and patient flow.
Job responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to attend regular In-Service Training and we will support your CPD in line with your annual VBA with opportunities to attend external courses and conferences in line with your personal objectives.
The weekend working commitment will be one every three weekends, and there will be some extended hours shifts during the week, which will then provide you with set days off per week. There can be some negotiation in terms of rota pattern, however Mondays will need to be worked.

Special Knowledge
* Evidence of relevant C.P.D.
