We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our friendly Metabolic Bone therapy team for 12 months. You will work as part of an integrated team, providing high-quality care to children.
You will assess children with a variety of needs, creating personalised treatment plans. You'll manage your own caseload while collaborating with a diverse team to provide care. With support from senior therapists, you will continue developing your skills in metabolic bone therapy through ongoing professional training, peer support, and a preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
1. Conduct advanced occupational therapy assessments for children with different symptoms and difficulties.
2. Provide a diagnosis, related to occupational therapy, and develop tailored treatment plans for each child.
3. Independently manage your own caseload, within this defined service.
4. Develop knowledge in the field of metabolic bone therapy.
5. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as a developing autonomous practitioner and access the advice, training and support from senior therapists within the team.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Trainings
* HCPC registration
* Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
* An under-graduate case study, essay or dissertation on a paediatric topic
* Good overall clinical record / profile
* Membership of the RCOT
Experience
* Experience of team working
* Undergraduate or post graduate clinical placements/rotations in paediatrics
* Experience of working with children, either professionally or socially
* Evidence of extra responsibilities taken at either undergraduate or post graduate level
* Involvement in audit, research or service evaluation.
* Experience of working in the community
* Experience of working in paediatrics
Knowledge
* Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
* Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications for services
* Awareness of own limitations
* Understanding of family/team dynamics and how to develop working relationships with all involved in the child's care
* Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and health and safety requirements in meeting the needs of the child and family
