We have an opportunity for a highly experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our business as we continue to scale.
This role is responsible for the design, development, and optimisation of power electronics systems that support the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of the electrical grid.

You'll spend your time:
1. Leading the design, simulation, and optimisation of power electronics systems, including power converters, inverters, and power supplies
2. Ensuring the designs meet performance, reliability, and safety standards
3. Selecting and integrating appropriate components, such as semiconductors, capacitors, inductors, and controllers, into the overall design
4. Coordinating with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure project milestones are met and integration is seamless
5. Overseeing the development of test plans and validation protocols to ensure designs meet required specifications
6. Leading testing efforts, analysing results, and troubleshooting any issues with prototypes or production designs
7. Fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring continuous knowledge sharing within the team
The key experience we're looking for:
1. Development capability utilising high-power, high-speed power electronics, including a working knowledge of advanced materials, including SiC
2. Static and dynamic simulation modelling and analysis
3. Extensive experience with DC-AC and AC-DC 3 phase converters for power transmission applications
4. Experience using MATLAB Simulink, SPICE or similar for systems design
5. MEng / MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Physics or equivalent
6. Successfully designed and developed power electronics circuits and systems, including DC-DC converters, inverters, and power supplies
