Mould Maintenance TechnicianLocation: BanburyHours / Shift: 40.25 hours (average) Hours of work vary between 23 and 57.5 hours per week, averaging 40.25 hours per week over a 14 day period:
Main purpose of job: To act as a team member providing a multi-skilled technical service to ensure the effective and efficient running of the plant.
Reporting to: Mould Maintenance Manager
Main duties:React to break-downs and quality issues using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems quickly and effectively.Programme and monitor the running of plant equipment to maximise through-put in line with agreed quality standards.Undertake planned maintenance in line with the TPM process.Work as a member of the shift team, maximising efforts to meet priorities and having a longer-term view to continuous improvementInput into manufacturing facilities (layouts, services etc.)Always follow environmental, health & safety policies and procedures and report any issuesTake appropriate escalation actionsProvide engineering and technical services to improve the performance of the plantKnowledge of quality standardsTo project a professional image of the company to customers/visitorsTo use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns eg. Quality/downtime Safety, Environmental Responsibilities:Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.Comply compliance with IATF 16949.Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.Comply with the General Risk Assessments.Comply with the Manual Handling Risk Assessments.Comply with COSHH Risk Assessments.Report accidents and near misses.Comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).Comply with the Safe System of Work documents.Take appropriate actions in emergency situationsAdhere to 5S processes and procedures.
Quality:Raise quality care points.Liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns.Adhere to standardised working procedures.Participate in quality checks and controls.Adhere to quality care points.Report repeat quality issues.TimingEnsure all quality decisions are made considering risk to supply and escalate as required.Report any issues or concerns to your line manager.
Cost:Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities.Participate in projects within the companies CIP scheme.Taking fast action to reduce customer demerits and cost of quality.Use consumables responsibly.
Specific Skills & Experience:Formal apprenticeship within either an electrical, mechanical or hydraulic qualification.Will be fully trained with process and machine systemsStrong diagnostic skills, good numeracy and communication (both oral and written) skillsExperience within a large injection moulding shop would be desirable.Reactive to changing requirementsAbility to write technical reportsAbility to work using own initiative with minimum supervisionAbility to work under pressureRobotic experience Kuka, ABB robots desirable.Experience of hydraulics and PLC work.Computer literate with good excel and access database skills.Good analytical skills.Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company.Manual dexterity.Literacy and numeracy.Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
