We are looking to recruit an Assistant Site Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Development Site Manager, you will work alongside the development team to ensure the site Programme is planned and effectively monitored on a daily basis. You will be supporting the Site Manager in managing all site resources including labour, plant and materials as well as on-site health and safety and client customer service. Under the guidance of the Site Manager, you will also be responsible for managing sub-contractors by giving them clear direction and clarifying expectations in all aspects of site delivery. You will participate in and create a culture where operatives recognise risks to prevent issues arising, ultimately working towards a proactive response rather than a reactive system. You will ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained through a constant checking process and you will be confident in taking immediate corrective action if you witness a breach of the Cala guidelines. As an Assistant Site Manager, you will also be expected to take ownership of site issues and ensure they are dealt with promptly. You must appreciate the importance of excellent customer satisfaction and resolving customer service issues.
About You
The ideal candidate will be computer literate and have experience working to NHBC standards. It is important to have an understanding of the construction process with the ability to work at heights, and hold valid SMST, CSCS and First Aid certificates. Competency in Scaffold Awareness, Traffic Management and Lifting Ops is desirable, although training can be provided. Volume experience building to a 5 star quality is essential, and candidates must have previous experience in a similar role with a housebuilder. You will be confident in explaining technical information, an excellent problem solver and have strong time management skills. Demonstrable motivational and people management techniques are required to encourage the team to meet targets and deadlines. Communication skills are paramount to ensure that the necessary teams are kept up to date with any changes on the site. You will be required to lead trade site, project team and site sales meetings. Additionally, you will work alongside the Site Manager to ensure costs are controlled and identify potential savings.
Must have a valid:
1. CITB
2. SMSTS (not an internal version, has to be CITB)
3. First Aid at Work (FAW)
4. Appropriate CSCS Card
Ideally have a valid:
1. Basic Scaffold Theory and Inspection (or CISRS Inspector)
2. Site Environmental Management (CITB SEATS or IEMA)
3. CITB
4. Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC)
5. Experience working to NHBC standards
6. Previous position conducting this role.
