We are seeking to appoint an individual into a pivotal leadership role in the Operating Theatres Department.
Following a recent re-organisation of the senior theatre team across both acute sites, this role presents an exciting opportunity to lead the next phase of development and improvement work, and to be a crucial link for the Clinical Director and Consultant Anaesthetists.
As a key member of the Divisional Senior Management Team, you will be a forward-thinking individual and an ambassador for change who can help us to build a better future through best practice and quality care.
You will lead the recently-formed team of Band 7 Theatre Managers and support their individual and collective development to create a robust and effective senior team.
Proven leadership ability is essential. Previous experience driving significant change, developing people, and embedding positive culture and values is also required.

Main duties of the job
The core responsibilities of Clinical Lead are:
* Leadership of Theatre Teams.
* Ensure the provision of safe and effective patient care.
* Effectively manage the Nursing/OPD/TSW resource within our Theatre portfolio.
* Delivery of Trust and Divisional objectives as part of the Senior Divisional Management Team.
* Accountability for ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are provided in Theatres.
* Responsibility for infection control and cleanliness.
* Development of nurses, ODPs, and support staff.
* Operational management of Theatres and Theatre staff.
* Has 24-hour accountability for the portfolio of Theatres.
* Experience in Operating Theatres.
* Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
* Qualification in a perioperative specialty or an equivalent level of experience.
* Masters Degree or willing to undertake Masters Degree within an agreed timescale.

Job responsibilities
To be responsible for the 24-hour operational management for Operating Theatres across the Organisation including deployment and supervision of staff and to ensure the co-ordination of all services provided to the patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered healthcare professional/hold a professional healthcare qualification (Registered Nurse or ODP) with substantial clinical knowledge and significant experience of management within an operating theatres environment.
* First Degree in relevant associated subject and evidence of post-graduate training in relevant subject.
* Educated to Masters/post-graduate level in a relevant specialism.
* Recognised Leadership/Management qualification or working towards.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Knowledge of NHS policy in relation to nursing and management of patient care.
* IT skills and ability to operate MS Windows programmes and Microsoft Office.
* Masters Degree.

* A respected professional and experienced clinical manager.
