Overview
As a Staffing Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our clinical units are staffed effectively to support safe, high-quality patient care. You’ll manage daily schedules, assign float staff and Behavioral Health Safety Attendants, and respond to real-time staffing needs based on patient volume and acuity. This fast-paced role requires strong organization, quick thinking, and a proactive mindset to keep our teams running smoothly.
Responsibilities
* Create, manage, and adjust staffing schedules for nursing and clinical support staff.
* Monitor staffing levels across departments to ensure adequate coverage based on census and acuity.
* Respond to call-outs and schedule changes in a timely and professional manner.
* Collaborate with nursing leadership to fill open shifts using internal float pool, per diem staff, or agency support.
* Track attendance, schedule changes, and time-off requests.
* Maintain accurate records for payroll and compliance purposes.
* Utilize staffing/scheduling systems (API) to manage shift assignments.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with clinical and administrative teams.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* 2-4 years of experience in scheduling, staffing, or administrative support in a healthcare setting preferred.
* Proficient with computer systems and scheduling software.
* Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Familiarity with hospital operations and clinical staff roles is a plus.
