Join our team as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in the Adult Haemato-Oncology Unit and step into a supportive environment that fosters growth, development, and innovation.
Your role will involve coordinating the delivery of specialised drugs, providing essential pharmaceutical advice, mentoring colleagues, and managing cutting-edge e-prescribing systems.
Main duties of the job
As a Haemato-Oncology Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in the coordination and delivery of chemotherapy and other specialised drugs to our patients. On a typical day, you will visit the Haem ward, attend multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds, and collaborate with the haematology day unit and pharmacy services. As a catalyst for change, you will use your expertise to ensure patient safety, comfort, and treatment success. You will serve as a trusted advisor, providing invaluable pharmaceutical insights related to haemato-oncology treatments to our medical and nursing staff. Your responsibilities will also include updating procedures, managing the Trust's e-prescribing system, monitoring guideline adherence and drug expenditure, establishing service level agreements, representing the Pharmacy department at meetings, leading haemato-oncology Peer Review, and overseeing immunoglobulin use while recording data on the National Immunoglobulin Database.
You will play a crucial role in the development and training of our pharmacy staff, including providing chemotherapy training, training pre-registration and junior pharmacists, and contributing to medical and nursing staff e-prescribing training. You will also line manage rotational pharmacists, conduct regular appraisals, and supervise Band 7 Rotational Pharmacists.
