Summary
Veolia is looking for a Maintenance Operations Engineer Apprentice to join our team in Shrewsbury. In this role, you will get involved in plant operations control and monitoring, manage process parameters, support shift leadership, track material usage and emissions, prepare reports, and handle plant start-up/shutdown procedures.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Monitor and control process parameter conditions such as flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and set points
* Support the Shift Team Leader in overseeing and managing plant operations
* Monitor the plant parameter adjustments, reporting any irregularities or process variations
* Monitor and control the usage of raw materials, chemicals and other plant utilities effectively
* Monitor environmental emissions and adjust operation and dosing to maintain compliance
* Assist and prepare operational reports as requested
* Safely and efficiently manage shutdown/start-up of the plant/systems in accordance with plant operating procedures and parameters
* Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal operating conditions to place plant equipment in a safe operating condition
* Participate in all phases of start-up and commissioning of the Boiler, Turbine Generator and all plant auxiliaries following shutdowns
* Manage calls and enquiries from members of the public as required
