Cambridgeshire Community Services is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, Safeguarding Lead who would like an opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, friendly and supportive Safeguarding Team.

A working knowledge of the Working Together 2023 and knowledge and experience of working with Vulnerable Families and multi agencies would be an expectation of a practitioner applying for this role.
This role is based in the Bedfordshire area, however, there is an expectation of travelling to meet the needs of practitioners.
To lead on development of defined areas of safeguarding practice as determined by Named Professional and Head of Safeguarding
To provide support and leadership within and across Cambridgeshire Community Services on all matters relating to safeguarding children and identifying when adults are at risk
To embed the Think Family approach and to liaise with the expertise of the adult safeguarding team when working with adults at risk within the family environment
To contribute to the design and implementation of the Think Family approach promoting evidence-based practice in safeguarding within Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (CCS)
To support the robust and effective clinical governance of safeguarding children and adults at risk processes in place.
To provide safeguarding advice, support and safeguarding supervision to frontline staff working with children, young people and their families and to signpost to adult safeguarding team when adults at risk have been identified
To be an integral part of the Locality leadership team, working alongside other Band 7 colleagues in the office environment under the leadership of the Named Professional to promote a high quality, efficient and effective service

To participate in the design, implementation and delivery of the Trust’s safeguarding training strategy and the safeguarding audit programme
To participate and represent the safeguarding team on identified multi-agency sub-groups and meetings and work with partner agencies to facilitate the learning from multi-agency review
To support and provide safeguarding advice within the single point of accesses
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. To work with Trust staff to promote best practice, identify risk factors and initiate or escalate appropriate action to safeguard people or suffering from abuse and neglect.
2. To contribute to collaborative interagency working and quality assurance frameworks for safeguarding children
3. To provide robust and reflective safeguarding supervision to health practitioners on a one-to-one or group session as set out by the safeguarding supervision policy.
4. To provide safeguarding specialist advice and support to staff on a day-to-day basis on issues relating to the safeguarding agenda.
5. To maintain records and support staff to maintain records as per the professional and Trust requirements
6. To assist the Named Professional in the development, implementation and delivery of the safeguarding training programme and to participate in learning needs analysis as required.
7. To assist the Named Professional and Safeguarding Team in the production of the Safeguarding Annual Report, provide data in relation to Quality Key Performance Indicators, Section 11 Self assessments and other information as requested by the wider Trust or partner agencies
8. To contribute, with support from the Named Professional to Statutory Safeguarding Reviews and Internal PSIRF processes
9. To ensure that recommendations and action plans from Statutory Safeguarding Reviews and Internal PSIRF reviews are implemented appropriately and that any learning from these are incorporated into training and disseminated across the Trust.
10. To assist the Named Professional in the audit programme and support staff where necessary in undertaking safeguarding audit.
11. To ensure appropriate action is taken when clinical risks are identified by self, or a team member and that the escalation process is followed appropriately.
12. To provide clinical leadership and professional support to staff and team members; this includes active participation in team meetings and deputising for the Named Professional where appropriate.
13. To assist with development of relevant policy documents that guide practice.
14. To undertake clinical practice duties as determined by Named Professional.
15. To support staff dealing with the emotionality of safeguarding and access emotional support for self when dealing with safeguarding issues if required.
16. To support the work in the Single Point of Accesses.
Communication
1. To support staff with the communication of complex and sensitive information effectively with children, young people, and adults.
2. Maintain good relationships with other professional leads and all members of staff, thus developing professionalism through the organisation
