German Doner Kebab (GDK) is a fast-casual kebab chain specialising in German Doner kebabs, owned by Hero Brands since 2017.
Position Summary
You are the Captain of the Ship. You are responsible for ensuring food standards, excellent service, and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the Restaurant. You are accountable for achieving the restaurant’s sales and profit by managing costs and scheduling effectively, without sacrificing customer experience. Motivating staff and creating a cheerful, professional environment to encourage customer return are also key responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Leads Operations Excellence:
* Oversees all areas of the Restaurant
* Ensures guest service exceeds standards and maintains high guest satisfaction
* Responds to guest complaints promptly and effectively
* Ensures the highest quality of products is served
* Organises and supervises shifts for team and guest satisfaction
* Acts as a duty manager on a rotation basis
* Coordinates restaurant operations during shifts
* Completes daily reports at shift end
* Manages team welfare and provides feedback
* Ensures employees adhere to uniform standards and grooming
* Organises and supervises kitchen, dining, and counter staff shifts
* Greet customers and exemplify exceptional customer care
* Encourages teamwork, cooperation, and a positive working environment
* Maintains high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety
* Trains and develops team members
* Provides performance feedback to staff
* Nurtures a positive working environment and leads by example
* Supports colleagues during peak times and performs operational duties as needed
* Estimates consumption, forecasts requirements, and maintains stock levels
* Monitors compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
* Controls costs and minimizes waste to ensure profitability
* Promotes and publicises the brand
* Analyzes and plans sales and profitability levels
* Organizes marketing activities
* Monitors operations and initiates corrective actions
* Leads financial management including sales, costs, and profits
* Prepares shift/week reports on team, food, and sales
* Creates and executes plans for sales, profit, and staff development
* Sets or agrees on budgets with management
* Checks stock levels and orders supplies
* Prepares cash drawers and petty cash
* Assists in any area of the restaurant as needed
* Attends training and meetings as required
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Franchisee
* Ensures restaurant security
* Coordinates stock deliveries and maintains accurate records
* Collaborates with the Brand and Franchisee on accounts and system administration
* Monitors stock storage for security and cleanliness
* Ensures stock control and margin achievement
* Maintains a high standard of food safety and hygiene, including scores on the doors

Qualifications
A qualified candidate should have outstanding communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork. Essential qualities, skills, and knowledge include:
* Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager
* Experience in customer service management
* Extensive food knowledge
* Familiarity with restaurant management software
* Strong leadership and motivational skills
* Financial management skills
