OVERVIEW
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic person who has good practical skills, an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. The successful applicant will be working in a small but busy production environment manufacturing precision test and measurement equipment. You will be reporting to the Engineering & Manufacturing Director to support and improve all aspects of the production environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES
This role encompasses a range of duties for Rhopoint Instruments Limited. These include, but are not limited to:
* Create and update documentation for the manufacture of electronic test equipment.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement methods to the production process.
* Assist with the design and development of jigs, fixtures, tools and factory layout.
* Aid the transition of new products from R&D through to production.
* Manufacturing products that have both mechanical and electronic assemblies.
* Testing and calibrating instruments and sub-assemblies.
* In-process inspection and completion of shop-floor documentation.
* Troubleshooting, fault finding and diagnostic of production instruments.
* Scheduling production builds.
* Any other duties as the Management from time to time reasonably require.
Suitable applicants for this role would have:
* HNC/HND level in Engineering/Production Engineering or be able to demonstrate successful employments as a production operative in the electronics industry.
* Good analytical skills.
* Excellent computer skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in electronic and/or mechanical assembly, reading technical diagrams and instructions.
* Experience with low volume and batch production environments.
* Experience in electronic and mechanical assembly.
* Common sense and initiative, can work unsupervised and is self-disciplined.
Beneficial but not essential:
· Experience in fault finding on electronic instrumentation.
· Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques such as, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban.
· Knowledge of online manufacturing programs such as Visual Factory.
· Knowledge of databases.
