About Us:
Stericycle is a U.S. based business-to-business services company and leading provider of compliance-based solutions that protects people and brands, promotes health and well-being, and safeguards the environment. Since our founding over 30 years ago, we have grown from a small start-up in medical waste management into a leader across a range of increasingly complex and highly regulated arenas, serving healthcare organizations and commercial businesses of every size. Every day, we help our customers solve complex challenges by safely managing materials that could otherwise spread disease, contaminate the environment, or compromise one’s identity.
Join us on our mission to protect health and well-being in a safe, responsible, and sustainable way.
Position Purpose:
As our Management Accountant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that the month-end close process is executed accurately and on time for all our UK locations. You’ll work as part of our finance team in the corporate head office where you’ll get the opportunity every day to demonstrate your detail-oriented focus and your excellent communication skills.
Key Job Activities:
* You’ll be focusing on monthly closing and reporting of books and records, related account reconciliations, cost accruals, analysis of financial statement variances, whilst ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX and Stericycle accounting policies.
* You’ll prepare in a timely and accurate manner the accounting information and processes to support monthly reporting to the US parent company, statutory accounts, and tax returns. That means, you’ll work diligently to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and efficiency of financial information and translate it into robust and accurate reporting.
* You’ll communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate reporting and you’ll also be collaborating with various business units to have a thorough understanding of reporting requirements and business needs.
* You’ll prepare complex journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and US reporting packages. You will also undertake balance sheet and P&L reviews, including variance analysis, to provide meaningful insights into the company's financial performance.
* You’ll collaborate with internal and external audit and tax teams, making sure we are being compliant.
* You’ll work closely with the FP&A Team and Commercial Finance to understand P&L drivers and movements in the month, as well as overall business performance.
Education:
* You'll take ownership of projects and see them through from start to finish, even when working independently from your line manager. Your goal will be to achieve and implement change that can make a positive impact on the business. So, if you're a self-starter who enjoys taking on new challenges and driving change, this could be the perfect role for you.
* You're highly motivated, able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and you have a "can do and will do" attitude towards achieving goals.
* You have a forward-thinking outlook and are committed to continuous improvement and business transformation.
Experience (EMEAA):
* You’ll have a CIMA/ACCA qualification or nearing the end of your studies.
* You'll have a proven track record of team leadership and excellent communication and presentation skills, this means you're confident working with people at all levels of the organization, and you can explain financial information in a way that non-financial professionals can understand.
* You have practical experience in journal entry, balance sheet reconciliation, and a solid understanding of US GAAP/IFRS and SOX requirements.
* You're comfortable with P&L variance analysis, reviewing costs, and providing commentary for FP&A and senior management.
