We are looking for a part time PPE / Fit testing assistant to support the PPE and FIT testing Service which was set up as part of the Trusts response to the COVID-19 outbreak and sits within the Infection Prevention & Control Team. You would be required to work at all hospital locations.
The service ensures that personal protective equipment (PPE) and restricted medical devices are provided for staff and services throughout Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
The PPE safety assistant is a competent confident member of staff who is able to support clinical and non-clinical health care workers to safely use PPE required for contact with patients including those with suspected or confirmed respiratory infections such as COVID-19, influenza and TB other infectious diseases such as Ebola, CPE and MRSA
The PPE safety assistant’s role is to ensure staff are trained to wear the correct PPE to provide adequate protection against the risk of infection including the risks associated with a procedure or task being undertaken in an infectious clinical work area.
The post holder is responsible for fit testing to ensure that respirators (re-usable or single use) fit the face of an individual in order to provide respiratory protection against harmful pathogens. The post holder will be fully trained for both the qualitative and quantitative fit testing methods.
