POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a Lineside Support Operative to join our team at our Scarborough site on a permanent basis. This role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely receipt, delivery, and movement of parts and materials to the production line. While a counterbalance forklift truck license, picker license, or Class 1 HGV license is preferred, it’s not essential for the right candidate. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* To prioritize supplying materials to the production line
* To check and maintain stock control
* To update MRP (Syspro) systems promptly
* To compile weekly 'Pick Lists'
* To identify and report shortages to the appropriate stakeholders as needed, and to ensure corrective actions are taken
* To report any damaged components and submit DMR's as required
* To report and dispose of any obsolete items as necessary
* To organize, arrange, label, and maintain line-side racking
* To handle external carriers/couriers as necessary
* To maintain cleanliness in the assigned work area, including racking, walkways, waste disposal, and spill clearance both inside and outside of buildings
* To conduct daily end-of-shift inspections of the work area
* To always operate forklift trucks and material handling equipment safely and ensure that floor space and walkways are consistently kept safe
* To adhere to the daily forklift truck inspection procedure
* To ensure timely return of reusable stillages
* To be responsible for the safe disposal and/or recycling of packaging
* To provide support to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain team as needed
* To work across a range of product lines and with outsourcing partners
* To assist with cycle counting processes
* Perform any other duties as required
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* Proven experience of working efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment
* Possession of a valid counterbalance Forklift Truck License, demonstrating a high level of competence in operating forklift trucks
* Proficiency in handling and driving delivery buggies, with a strong focus on safety and precision
* Excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth coordination and collaboration within the team
* Ability to promptly and professionally handle and respond to requests from both internal and external customers
* Fully computer literate, including a solid understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
