Financial Controller – Boutique Hotel Group – Stadhampton, Oxford and Beaconsfield, South Bucks Following a recent buyout of the business, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the finance team. You will be reporting to the Board, and this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of the financial management of a business with exciting growth plans. The interim CFO is stepping back to an executive Board role and therefore this role carries significant autonomy. What Does the Role Include? As the financial controller, you will have responsibility for the finance function, providing insight into the Group’s financial performance, monitoring of the Group’s debt facilities and preparation of the monthly reporting to the Board, including its third-party investors. The finance team has an in-house accounts preparation function, responsible for monthly and quarterly accounts preparation, payroll processing and VAT compliance and therefore this role requires a self-starter who can lead a small finance team and prioritise financial planning and analysis, and cash management. Key responsibilities include: Review and finalisation of the draft monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts Development and evolution of KPI reporting to enable informed decision-making across the business Coordination of the finance team’s oversight of operations’ daily/weekly financial targets Monthly analysis of trading and cashflow performance with a comparison to budget Identification and implementation of finance and related operating system improvements Preparation and financial modelling of the Group’s annual budget, three-year business plan and periodic reforecasting Monthly preparation of a 13-week short-term cash flow forecast and analysis vs prior month Monitoring of performance against financial covenants and preparation of compliance certificates Liaising with the Management team in respect of the monthly Board meeting deliverables and coordinating delivery of the monthly Board pack Liaising with external advisers in respect of corporation tax and other tax compliance matters Liaising with external auditors and review and submission of statutory accounts Other ad hoc, commercially focussed projects, such as financial oversight of capital projects and modelling of new business opportunities Attributes we are looking for: Qualified Chartered Accountant Strong IT Skills including the use of Excel, PowerPoint and accounting systems Financial modelling capability with the aptitude to understand trends and form commercial judgements Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and help grow the team Understanding/experience of UK accounting standards, IFRS/UK GAAP is desirable An ability to interact with senior stakeholders and debt and equity providers Hospitality experience would be helpful, but not essential for the right candidate Financial Controller Benefits On Target Earnings of £70,000 to £80,000 per annum Career development and training opportunities 50% staff discount across the Crazy Bear Group; including hotel stays, food and drink, and Thai massage treatments. £500 recruitment referral for successful applicants 28 days’ annual leave Pension scheme Perks and Benefits from Hospitality Rewards Why Choose Crazy Bear?
