Busy RIBA Chartered practice based in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Conservation Architect/ Conservation Surveyor to join their friendly and sociable team. Based in a stylish office with excellent transport links, the practice specialises in a diverse range of projects, with particular emphasis on Conservation, Housing, Education, and Commercial sectors. Skills, Experience & Responsibilities for the Role of Conservation Architect/ Surveyor; ARB-registered, with several years of post-Part 3 experience. Demonstrable expertise in conservation architecture, including working on listed buildings and heritage sites. Strong design flair paired with solid technical capabilities. Ability to manage projects across all RIBA stages, with a particular focus on Conservation and all RIBA Stages. Provide input on critical project decisions in collaboration with Directors. Experience with building condition and heritage impact assessments, conservation plans, and liaising with heritage bodies (e.g., Historic England). Submitting listed building consent applications as well as altering listed buildings, carrying out condition surveys of listed buildings. Mentor and support junior staff members, sharing expertise in conservation techniques and principles. Strong time management skills to deliver projects to high standards within deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in preparing design and technical reports. Local to Cardiff or willing to relocate.
