The Opportunity: Join our team as a Technical Project Manager and take the lead in driving technical and operational improvements within our fleet. Your expertise will enhance fleet performance, reliability, and safety while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused approach and a strong understanding of fleet technologies and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Track and analyse fleet performance, addressing reliability issues, repeat defects, and technical obsolescence.
2. Lead fleet improvement initiatives to enhance operational availability, reliability, and safety.
3. Oversee compliance with maintenance schedules, regulatory standards, and company policies.
4. Identify and implement best practices for technical improvement programmes within the organisation.
5. Support fleet commissioning and decommissioning processes as required.
6. Liaise with customers to establish continuous improvement processes and define key technical projects.
7. Manage fleet modifications and upgrades, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory requirements.
8. Oversee technical project execution, including vehicle upgrades, technology integration, and sustainability initiatives.
9. Analyse fleet data to recommend cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
10. Ensure all operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
11. Provide expert advice on fleet systems, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
12. Collaborate with stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams, ensuring project success.
13. Maintain financial control over project budgets, costs, and resources, ensuring alignment with company goals.
What We Are Looking For:
1. 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, fleet management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in managing technical projects from initiation to completion.
3. Strong knowledge of fleet technologies, including telematics, diagnostics, and maintenance tools.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
5. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
6. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
7. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
8. Team-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
9. Industry certifications such as PMP, SOE, IMI, or other relevant credentials (preferred).
10. Experience working in an ISO-accredited environment (desirable).
11. Familiarity with sustainable and electric vehicle technologies (desirable).
12. Experience with Ground Support Equipment or the aviation sector (advantageous but not essential).

Working Hours/Shift Pattern: This role requires a mix of office-based work and field visits, including airside operations at various airports. Occasional travel may be necessary for vendor coordination and industry events.
