My Client is seeking to employ a number of Structural Design engineers in their award-winning practice in Central London.
You will be responsible for specialist structural engineering design projects from inception to completion in commercial, health, retail, industrial, education, hotels, leisure, and other specialist sectors. You will have the opportunity to work on interesting and complex buildings in London and the South East.
The roles require producing detailed designs to meet with design and construction programmes, liaising with other disciplines, and ensuring the co-ordination of design and detailing work appropriate to the project.
Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out structural surveys of buildings/desk studies and providing initial advice on any issues that may arise.
2. Preparation of conceptual and outline designs for structural schemes with the support of the wider team.
3. Preparation of detailed design calculations to British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant design guidance notes using relevant 3D software packages.
4. Responding to Client requests for information.
5. Supporting the production of Construction information for issue to Contractors.
6. Visiting sites during the Construction phase to monitor progress and provide advice to Contractors.
7. Day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines and consultancies.
8. Attend team meetings with both internal and external disciplines.
Qualifications:
1. Experience of structural design in concrete and steel structures, as well as experience in other structural materials.
2. Computer literate with knowledge of design and analysis programmes.
3. Desire to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions.
4. Experience of working with Eurocodes and British Standards.
5. Good analytical skills.
6. Ability to work in a team environment.
7. Passion for Architecture.
