Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Exeter. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, inspire students to develop a love for literature and language, and contribute to their academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and teach English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level exams, ensuring they achieve their academic targets.
* Monitor and assess student progress, offering personalized feedback and support.
* Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
* Work collaboratively with the school's English department and other staff to share best teaching practices.
* Engage in the wider school community and participate in extra-curricular activities when required.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in English or a related field.
* Previous experience teaching English at secondary level is preferred, but strong NQTs are also welcome to apply.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
* A passion for teaching English and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
* Flexibility and willingness to commit to a long-term position.
