Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging practical and theoretical Design Technology lessons to students across KS3 and KS4.
2. Ensure health & safety regulations are implemented and followed in all practical lessons.
3. Inspire students with hands-on projects using a variety of materials and tools.
4. Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
5. Work collaboratively with the DT department to enhance curriculum planning and resource development.
6. Support and encourage students to develop confidence and creativity in their practical skills.
Requirements of a Design Technology Teacher:
1. QTS is not essential, but candidates must have experience teaching practical-based DT lessons.
2. A strong understanding of health & safety protocols in a workshop/classroom setting.
3. Experience in a secondary school setting, delivering engaging DT lessons.
4. Passion for design, innovation, and problem-solving, with the ability to inspire students.
5. Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
