Summary: We are looking to appoint 4 hardworking, motivated, and experienced Teaching Assistants with experience in SEN. They will join a well-established team of professionals committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We offer a staff uniform and wellbeing initiatives. We are an all-age Special School for pupils and students, catering mainly for those with severe learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning needs, and we have a number of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
We are a growing school with 130 pupils, but we pride ourselves on making a big impact on the lives of our children and their families. The ideal applicants will have prior experience in supporting pupils with special needs in a special or mainstream setting, in addition to supporting general classroom duties and in the hydrotherapy pool under the supervision of the pool manager. Important note: please read the supporting pupils with Medical Conditions in Special Schools annex.
The hours are 09:00am- 16:00pm (Mondays) and 09:00am - 15:30pm (Tuesdays- Fridays). The full-time salary is therefore pro-rata from 37 full-time hours to 30.5 part-time hours and from full-year working to term time plus Inset days. The pro-rata salary starts at £18,014 to £20,042.
The start date is as soon as possible, subject to satisfactory references & OH pre-placement questionnaire and Enhanced DBS clearance. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

Desirable Qualifications:
1. NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
2. Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
