Ready to Teach with Purpose? Join Prospect Training Services (PTS) and Be the Difference.
Are you ready to turn your passion for teaching into a powerful force for change?
At Prospect Training Services (PTS), we believe in the power of people — and we’re looking for an energetic, inspiring, and dedicated Tutor to join our mission to shape brighter futures for young learners who need it most. If you’re a dynamic, inspiring and joyful individual who has excellent experience working with SEN young people, we want to hear from you!
This is more than a teaching job — it’s a chance to become a lifeline, mentor, motivator, and role model for students who face real challenges. We are ready to support and encourage the next generation with impact and purpose.
Why Choose PTS?
With over 25 years of experience and 65,000+ learners supported, we’ve built a reputation for excellence — locally, nationally, and internationally. Consistently rated Grade 2 by Ofsted, PTS isn’t just a training provider — we’re a launchpad for both our learners and our educators.
Two Programmes. One Life-Changing Role.
Tuesdays & Wednesdays – 'Step Up' (Pre-16 Learners)
Support 14–16-year-olds who need alternative teaching strategies to reach their potential. Have you ever witnessed students who don’t quite fit the mould of mainstream education? Prospect is the place for you to exercise your supportive and adaptive teaching strategies. These students need someone who believes in them — someone like you.
Deliver dynamic, confidence-boosting sessions that develop real-world skills and inspire brighter futures through our innovative ‘Step Up…’ programme.
Thursdays & Fridays – 'Illumin8' (Post-16 Learners)
Lead small groups of post-16 learners through Functional Skills English and Maths (Entry to Level 1) and the Progression qualification. Our Illumin8 learners all have EHCPs and all have dreams, aspirations and goals for the future, all of which are reliant upon key qualifications, work experience and complementary, person-centred teaching experiences. We are looking for someone who isn’t afraid of taking their learning outside, organising trips, cooking, woodwork, anything that sparks engagement and passion in education. Our Progression criteria is minimal and allows for a vast range of expression and differentiation. With capped class sizes (max 14) and extra in-class support, you’ll create engaging, hands-on experiences that truly resonate and leave a lasting impact.
Essential Criteria:
* Level 3 (or above) Education and Training teaching qualification.
* Proven experience in delivering Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Level 1 to Level 2).
* Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
* Ability to work to performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workload effectively.
* Understanding of additional learning needs and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
Desirable Criteria:
* Assessor Qualification (A1 or equivalent).
* Experience working with learners aged 16-24, including those with additional needs.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Experience in delivering engaging and interactive lessons using digital tools and resources.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator who is passionate about making a difference in students’ lives by equipping them with essential Maths and English skills.
