Job Purpose:
Responsible for routine inspection and test of emergency lighting and to assist with all aspects of the deliverables required by the EMCOR contracts. This includes Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Works, projects work in accordance with both client and EMCOR Facilities Services requirements. The requirement to communicate clearly with other personnel and the client as required is important.
Duties:
1. Routine inspection and testing and repair of emergency lighting systems including compiling report to back up findings.
2. Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and industrial electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring.
3. Work alongside the hard services team and when required collaborating with other facilities services on site.
4. Possess working knowledge of DALI/KNX lighting control, fault finding and commissioning.
5. Working knowledge of BMS systems and associated control equipment.
6. Assist with others completing planned fixed wire testing.
7. Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts.
8. Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and industrial electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards.
9. Rewire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, ring final and radial circuits.
10. Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements.
11. Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction.
12. Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions.
13. Install electrical systems to 18th edition wiring regulations.
14. Provide professional assessments and advice for customers.
15. Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements.
16. On time completion of PPMs.
17. Deliver site reports to be audited both internally and externally.
18. Assist the hard Services team members where and when required. Compile and complete Emergency lighting, DALI/KNX control and electrical test and inspection reports.
19. Electrical installation and commissioning.
20. Fixed wire testing.
21. Contractor control.
22. Parts sourcing and quoting.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Knowledge of emergency lighting code of practice for the emergency lighting of premises BS5266.
2. Working knowledge of DALI/KNX lighting control, fault finding and commissioning.
3. Conforms to 18th edition wiring regulations.
4. Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391).
5. Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements.
6. Electrical engineering/inspection and testing experience.
7. Facilities maintenance experience.
8. IT literacy, Microsoft packages work and excel.
9. Good communication skills, both written and oral.
10. A good ability to plan and organise in a reactive environment.
11. Be willing and able to work individually and as part of a team.
12. Valid MEWP licence.
13. Valid PASMA licence.
14. Good knowledge and understanding of GMP practices and documentation.
15. Working at height training.
16. Abrasive wheel training.
17. PAT Testing.
