What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher of Maths to join a well-led, collaborative, and dedicated team with a keen focus on securing progress for every student. Applications are welcome from both experienced and early career teachers able to teach throughout the age and ability range and to engender positive relationships with young people. The school offers an excellent induction for ECTs and would be able to support you through your first two years in the profession. Additional incentives may be available to teachers with relevant skills or experience and part-time arrangements will be considered.
What the school offers its staff
These are exciting times at Alec Hunter, since our November 2022 Ofsted inspection confirmed that the school continues to be ‘good’, with the report noting that “Staff morale is high. They feel valued by (the) leadership team (and)… like many pupils, enjoy being part of Alec Hunter Academy”. This vacancy arises due to the fact that we are now a growing, heavily oversubscribed school, and therefore keen to recruit a team member who will make a strong contribution to our vision for Maths as a high-quality department at the forefront of the school’s journey to excellence. 78% of our students achieved a Grade 4 or better in Maths in 2024.
