Purpose of role
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team and deliver engineering improvement expertise across the site. This role involves working with craft, operator, and management teams to support the operational team in resolving machine problems. You will lead the deployment of Diageo's Continuous Improvement (CI) Asset Care practices, focusing on engineering improvement and transformation activities.
In this role, you will develop and supervise control systems to prevent or address violations of legal guidelines and internal policies. Your responsibilities will include continuously evaluating and improving the efficiency of our controls, revising procedures and reports periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
Collaboration with internal and external partners is needed to monitor the application of standards and regulations. You will review the work of colleagues to identify engineering issues and provide advice or training as necessary.
Additionally, you will handle CAPEX project delivery, ensuring Management of Change and Early Equipment Management protocols and practices are rigorously followed. Setting the highest standards in Safety and Engineering will be a critical aspect of your role.
Key Accountabilities
We are looking for a dedicated professional to ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Standards, and compliance with maintenance regulatory standards within the area.
Your responsibilities will include developing and delivering focused improvements to drive plant uptime and cost competitiveness, working with operations and asset care support teams to identify underperforming areas of the plant, and implementing resolutions.
Working closely with Site Managers, Operators, Maintenance Managers, Maintenance Planners, and Craft groups, you will ensure delivery of systemic/chronic root cause problem-solving practices. You will highlight and respond to trends in plant breakdown situations, analyse, fault find, and repair root cause problems to minimise downtime.
Implementing best practice processes and procedures, you will maximise effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring a strong interface with all key stakeholders.
You will drive improvement initiatives in line with Manufacturing Excellence asset care practice, act as a practitioner in root cause problem-solving, supporting the expedient resolution of machine-based issues, and be proficient in Lean methodologies techniques.
Providing coaching and support to colleagues to achieve good performance standards, you will demonstrate an understanding of regulatory critical plant testing, ensuring reports are reviewed and follow-on tasks raised on SAP.
Expected to reach a competency level associated with your role by completing all training in accordance with the Diageo training matrix, you will commit to growing your own capability and experience to benefit yourself, your team, and Diageo business requirements.
About you

2. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to lead and drive improvements.
5. Knowledge of CAPEX and project delivery
6. Experience working in a FMCG environment is advantageous.
7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

9. Comfortable serving as the point of escalation
